As I started to type the title for this blog post today, the tears just started rolling. Many of you probably don't know about the horrific flooding in my state of WV. If you haven't heard anything about it, take a short moment and view this online article from CNN. If you don't want to click the link and watch the video, that's okay. Just know that up to 10 INCHES of rain fell in a very short period of time here on Thursday, June 23rd. Here in the mountains, that is a VERY big problem. That was 1/4 of WV's annual rainfall that fell in ONE day! I read that that much rain only falls once every 1000 years.
The flooding hasn't affected me or any of my family directly...and we are blessed. However, my heart is heavy and hurts for the people of my state. I wasn't even thinking about the floods, but as soon as I typed "Nothin' Bue Blue Skies," my mind immediately went to them. Please pray for the people of our state. We are strong people here. We've had more than our fair share of troubles here and it's made our people resilient. We will overcome this. We are #WVStrong.
I hope my kit can bring some much needed sunshine to you and to my state of WV.

ReplyDeleteI've been "out of the media loop" for a while, but just heard the owner of Greenbrier on air yesterday talking about the devastation and what the residents are doing to help. May the waters subside and comfort come to all in need there during the cleanup and aftermath. Thank you for sharing your talents to bring this to the forefront of our minds.
