SNEAK PEAK: August's Blog Train

White you're here for July's train, sneak a peak at what I have started for you for August!

I haven't got it all done...but I did make the papers.  So, I wanted to show them off.  I'm pretty sure that I'm going to focus on journal cards and word art with this kit.  It might have some elements, too.  But I'm going to make some funny quotes for those of us (like me!) who aren't really "happy campers."  My idea of camping is sleeping with the window open.  I never quite understood the mystique and wonder surrounding sleeping outside.  My goal in life has pretty much been to make sure I never have to sleep outside.  I intend for this kit to be useful for the camper and for those moments while camping or spending time outdoors that make us wonder "WHY DID I SIGN UP FOR THIS?"

Nothin' But Blue Skies Do I See.

As I started to type the title for this blog post today, the tears just started rolling.  Many of you probably don't know about the horrific flooding in my state of WV.  If you haven't heard anything about it, take a short moment and view this online article from CNN.  If you don't want to click the link and watch the video, that's okay. Just know that up to 10 INCHES of rain fell in a very short period of time here on Thursday, June 23rd.  Here in the mountains, that is a VERY big problem.  That was 1/4 of WV's annual rainfall that fell in ONE day!  I read that that much rain only falls once every 1000 years.

The flooding hasn't affected me or any of my family directly...and we are blessed.  However, my heart is heavy and hurts for the people of my state.  I wasn't even thinking about the floods, but as soon as I typed "Nothin' Bue Blue Skies," my mind immediately went to them.  Please pray for the people of our state.  We are strong people here.  We've had more than our fair share of troubles here and it's made our people resilient.  We will overcome this.  We are #WVStrong.

I hope my kit can bring some much needed sunshine to you and to my state of WV.

Next Month's Blog Train Sneak Peak

Gees! It was my intention to only do a very small kit for the July train...but once I got started, I just couldn't stop! I actually started designing this morning and I've been working like a machine. All. Day!

I'm happy with the result even though it was nothing like what I envisioned.  I wanted to do something light and airy, but I'm always drawn to the high-contrast... so I had to add in some navy and white chevron... and pretty soon the light and airy was gone.  Ever since the theme of this train was declared, I've been singing "Blue Skies Smiling At Me" in my head.  So, I decided to run with that as my theme.  I hope you enjoy it!  I know, I can't wait to start scrapping with it!  If I do, I'll try to remember to post my pages I make here to share.

Come back on July 1st to pick up this one!

New Pixel Scrapper CU Blog Train {Live on 6/15}

These templates are for making scrapbook paper. Our theme was "bathtime," so I made a droplet overlay, a swirl paper template, and a fuzzy plaid paper template.  Each one is a PSD file with layers and they can be customized to whatever colors you'd like.  These will be available for download soon!  Come back and check for the links! It will be available for download on June 15th!
